Notification of Death - Jeanette E. (Weisberg) Snider

OFDA received word this morning that Jeanette E. (Weisberg) Snider, wife of Donald I., mother of Denise S. (Richard) Kohn and Eric K. Snider died on August 30, 2006.

Born March 2, 1916, to Marie Ann and Jacob Weisberg, Jeanette graduated from The Ohio State University in 1938 with a B.S. in Education. Although she did her student teaching, she never taught school as a profession. After marrying Donald in 1940, she worked as his partner and owner of the first Jewish Funeral Home in Columbus for nearly 40 years. Active in Jewish organizations in the community, including B'nai B'rith Women and Hadassah, she also enjoyed hobbies such as bowling and playing cards, loved to travel, and was an avid reader. She will always be remembered as a sweet, caring person.

Preceded in death by her parents and two brothers (Herman and Bernard Weisberg), she is survived by her husband and children, her brother and sister-in-law, Joseph (Noreen) Weisberg, of Columbus; sister-in-law, Lois Weisberg of Chicago; and six grandchildren: Todd Blank, Greggory (Candi Herritt) Blank, Alison (Robert) Forche', Jennifer (Brian) Lee, Jaime (Anthony) Grilli, all of Columbus, and Eric (Amy) Johnson of Augusta, Ga. Also survived by seven great-grandchildren: Ashley and Dylan Forche', Margaret and Madelyn Lee, Erik Blank, Emily and Abigail Johnson, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, September 1, 2006, at THE EPSTEIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 3232 East Main Street, with Rabbi Howard Apothaker officiating. Burial to follow at New Agudas Achim Cemetery. Following the burial, family will receive callers at the Kohn residence, and on Saturday evening.
