Notification of Death - Fred H. Moore

OFDA received word over the weekend that Funeral Director, Fred H. Moore, 84, of Bainbridge died at 10:20 AM on Saturday, July 28, 2007 at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe. Funeral services will be at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at the Bainbridge United Methodist Church with Rev. Glenn Newland and Rev. Scott Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the Bainbridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday at the Smith-Moore Funeral Home, Bainbridge.

Fred was born September 1, 1922 in Roxabel the son of the late Perril and Esther Higgins Moore. On September 10, 1945 he married Estelle C. Rentz who died in July of 1977. He is survived by special family; Sally and Tony Neikirk, 2 grandchildren, Molly Estelle (Jared) Freilich and Joseph Andrew (Emily Mathews) Neikirk, 4 nieces and a nephew. He was predeceased by 3 sisters Edna Hornbeck, Betty Weller and Patty Cooper.

Fred served the Bainbridge Community for many years as owner and operator of the Smith-Moore Funeral Home. He was a member of the Bainbridge United Methodist Church, a member and Past Master of F & AM 196 of Bainbridge, a member of Eastern Star, American Legion Post 14 of Bainbridge, National Funeral Directors Association, Ohio Funeral Directors Association (OFDA), Ohio Embalmers Association and Past member of the Paint Valley Board of Education. He was also an Army Veteran of World War Two.
