Richard F. Middleton

OFDA received word this afternoon that Richard F. Middleton, 76, passed away peacefully at his home April 28, 2008. He was born Nov. 26, 1931, to Floyd D. and Gwendolyn (Gibson) Middleton in Emlenton, Pa.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. He began his career as a licensed funeral director and embalmer in the state of Pennsylvania. He moved to Ohio in 1975 and took a position with Champion Chemical providing embalming chemicals and supplies for funeral homes all over Ohio and surrounding states, retiring in 1998.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Mary Ann (Revaj); son, Richard F. Middleton II, and his wife, Leslie Poirier; sister and brother, Gwen Goodwill, and David Middleton; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his infant son, Paul.

Funeral service will be held at 10:45 AM Friday, May 2, 2008 at the Anthony and Biscan Funeral Home, 4178 Massillon Road (corner of Massillon and Steese roads in Green), followed by a funeral Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 AM at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1600 Steese Road, Uniontown, Ohio 44685. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, May 1 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Queen of Heaven building fund or the Salvation Army.
