Obituary for Louise Ann Zabjek

Mother-in-law of Edward A. Kubu, Retired Funeral Director and OFDA Member

"Together Again"
Louise Ann Zabjek (nee Letwin) went home to our Lord on August 6, 2017. She was preceded in her passing by her loving husband Tony and son David, parents Margaret and William, sister "Pinky" and brother Bill. She is survived by her devoted daughter Mary Lou and loving son-in-law Edd Kubu of Mentor. Her grandsons: Stephen and Donald Zabjek. She was "Aunt Louise" to Lisa, Ed, Alyssa and Brandon Alemagno, Karen and Klaus Kaminski, Kelley and Michael West. Louise was born in 1924 in Cleveland. She graduated from Collinwood High School and served on the class reunion committee for 70 years. After graduation Louise worked at Eaton Axle as a bookkeeper where she made lifetime friends. She met Tony Zabjek roller skating at Euclid Beach Park. They were married in 1950 and lived in Euclid for 66 years. Louise attended Euclidian Beauty School to become a beautician. Louise was outgoing and had a zest for life. She organized parties and banquets for the TOPS club and participated in Mission Circles. She helped many people whether assisting them with health issues, driving to appointments or the airport, caring for the elderly, or socializing at lunch with her friends. Louise always looked younger than her years, which she was very proud of. She lived 15 years at Gateway Family House assisted living in Euclid where she was nicknamed Weezie. She developed close relationships with other residents and caregivers. The family would like to thank all of Weezie's caregivers: the staff at Gateway Family House, Altercare of Mentor, Speret Hall and the 500 hall; and Hospice of the Western Reserve for their loving care. We also would like to thank 3 special angels: Sallie, Maria, and Gayle. You deeply touched our hearts and we will always be grateful. Friends may greet the family on Friday, August 11, 2017 from, 3-8pm at Brickman Bros. Funeral Home 37433 Euclid Ave, Willoughby, OH 44094. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Mentor, OH. Reverend John M. Kumse will officiant a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Internment will at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon, OH Memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice of Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Avenue, Cleveland, OH or the Church of Saint Mary of the Assumption 15519 Holmes Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44110.
