Serving pets as an additional offering for a funeral home seems like an “easy” project to undertake. However, while the rewards can be high, there are risks to be mindful of in this business venture. This presentation will review all aspects of providing pet loss services, including the understanding that pet loss IS more than a cremation machine. It needs to be an experience, an opportunity to give pet lovers the permission for rituals and the support for a disenfranchised grief journey. Undertaking the full offering of pet loss care to only offering grief resources will give every business owner options in serving this type of loss within respective markets.

  • Attendees will hear the following elements of a pet loss service addition to a funeral operation:
  • What is happening with pet ownership, and how it’s exploded in numbers
  • Why pet loss services is a good business addition and offering for a funeral home, and why it’s not
  • Understanding B2B and B2C pet loss services
  • Pet loss needs through the eyes of a pet parent
  • The different levels of pet loss services, and knowing there IS something everyone can do to give care to a grieving pet lover
