JOB DESCRIPTION
FUNERAL DIRECTOR & EMBALMER

As a full-time Funeral Director and Embalmer, you will be required to assist in all aspects of funeral home operations as directed. The following list describes some of the duties required:

Providing compassionate care to the families we serve and to the community Interacting with families during visitation and funerals
Leading and coordinating funeral/cremation arrangements with families
Coordinating logistics of funeral services with appropriate parties (churches, clergy, cemeteries, crematory etc).
Completing all paperwork, obituaries, computer input, and documentation required for funeral/cremation
Direction of funerals, burials and other types of services at the funeral home, church, cemetery or other venue
Embalming deceased bodies under the direction of licensed embalmer
Removals and transfer of deceased (including at home removals or at facilities such as nursing homes, hospitals, medical examiner)
Casketing deceased bodies
Dressing deceased bodies
Moving and lifting caskets as needed
Driving funeral home vehicles at funerals and for related business
Running errands for certiﬁcates and other funeral home related business
Cleaning vehicle interiors and exteriors
Setting up chairs and other furniture for visitations and services as needed
Cleaning and general maintenance and care of funeral homes and property
