Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory is seeking a licensed funeral director to work in our Sandusky, Milan and Huron funeral homes, and ancillary businesses. The main responsibilities of this position include all aspects of funeral services, funeral home and crematory operations, and preparation and care of remains. Being a family-owned business in a small community, our limited staff shares all responsibilities from washing vehicles and answering phones to customer service, aftercare, marketing, community involvement and more. Managerial responsibilities will be limited as there is little vertical hierarchy within our team.
Candidate must have the confidence and ability to perform removals, including removals from residence, conduct services and arrangement conferences, and utilize office equipment.
Our expectation is that this candidate will successfully be able to multi-task, stay organized, and maintain a positive attitude. We also expect each candidate to become fluent with all other ancillary businesses, and help each division of our organization be successful.
This salaried position will include evening and weekend on-call shifts. Individual must be motivated and a self-starter, eager to be innovative in a progressive organization, and capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment. Compensation will be based on experience and will include medical benefits, 401k retirement plan, paid vacation, continuing education, civic memberships and more. Relocation to our area required.
