This State of Ohio Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors Education and Examination Committee-reviewed and approved Crematory Operation Certification Program is designed to equip you with the essential skills and knowledge needed to excel in the field.
Led by industry experts Poul Lemasters, Esq., and Larry Stuart Jr., this program offers an extensive training curriculum that prepares participants for the ICCFA Crematory Operator Certification online exam.

Principles of combustion
Cremation and the environment
Incinerator criteria and design
Basics of operating cremation equipment
General maintenance and troubleshooting

Earn Continuing Education Credit

ICCFA Certification Opportunity: Only those who successfully complete the course and pass the ICCFA’s online exam will be awarded a Crematory Operator Certification. This program has been reviewed and approved by the State of Ohio Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors Education and Examination Committee as a Board Approved Crematory Operation Certification Program. This certification is provided by ICCFA, not OFDA.
Ohio Permit Eligibility: Complete this program and pass the ICCFA Certification online exam to meet the educational requirements for your Ohio Crematory Operator’s Permit (CROP). This includes two hours of Ohio-specific laws and rules for crematory operation, required for applying or renewing through the State of Ohio Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors (OBEFD).
