2026 SAC Application
Each year, OFDA awards scholarships to students enrolled in mortuary school. In 2025, approximately $25,000 was awarded to deserving students!
To qualify, applicants must be currently enrolled in a mortuary science program or registered in a mortuary science program during the Fall 2026 academic semester. Students are strongly encouraged to practice as a licensed funeral director in Ohio.
Recipients of a scholarship are selected by the OFDA Scholastic Assistance Committee, following review of application and a personal interview if selected. The scholarship funds will be paid directly to the award recipient's mortuary school and students can expect to see a credit on their tuition bill (timing of credit(s) is at the discretion of the mortuary school).

Important Note:
All components of the 2026 SAC Application—including transcripts and letters of recommendation—must be received by the stated deadline. To avoid losing your work due to website timeouts, OFDA strongly recommends preparing your online application responses in a separate program (e.g., Microsoft Word) and then copying and pasting them into the online application.
